Killers.....Hmmmm...SMH

"Perfect wife. Perfect target."

On first glance when watching the trailer, I get this feeling of Mr. and Mrs Smith Reloaded, and it was not a good feeling. I shall admit I was not rushing to go see this film, but I thought I might be surprised.

Let me also note that at no point do I take this movie to serious and this is definitely food for thought, so that you can somewhat enjoy the film. (But know this, you don't have to go rush and see it, trust me on this one, it can wait.) Now we know that Katherine Heigl (Jen) has shown us before that she can be funny, especially with these type of comedies (The Ugly Truth, 27 Dresses, Knocked Up if you need proof). However, Ashton Kutcher (Spencer) just does not do the role justice... just not good. And this contributes to hurting the film, considering he's the leading man in this film. There was probably a decent "no-name" actor that could have done a better job. Now a piece that they could have done without is that of showing us their boring suburban life (hour's worth). This so could have been either remixed or just scratched period!

Take it for what it is a mediocre action/comedy summer flick. Don't expect fireworks!

Enjoying the Killers will depend on mainly your expectations and how gullible you are. Nonetheless even with huge shortcomings, it still somehow manages to make you laugh with its idiosyncrasies. In addition, Killers is entertaining enough to make you almost forget that you're watching a chick flick, but not for long.

While this pretty much predictable movie probably will not win any Oscars (let alone get nominated), it has plenty of action, laughs, irony, and twists to keep theater audiences entertained.

Grade: 2.5 stars out of 4
