A Knockout of an Affair!!

Tyson is a mixture of original interviews and archival footage & photographs which would shed light on the life experiences of Mike Tyson

The best parts of this film are the fact that Mike actually confesses his origins so that we can truly see the "real him". In the film, Mike Tyson woul deny the allegations that led to his rape conviction in 1991, but would admit to "taking advantage of other women".

The first thing that stands out is the cinematography, true excellence; it was as though it was probably shot within a few days, but the editing is just so smooth and clear cut. There is so great footage that is was more than just boxing matches, it was an experience. We get to see Tyson from age 14 to present, all his training, living, the court cases, and his family, so much to engulf. He truly shows an honest side of who is, no jokes just the real deal.

Many might say if they had to choose one word to describe Tyson it would be "empathy". Prior to this movie I will say that I saw Mike Tyson as true "nut". Crazy behind his own will. basically he was like another professional athlete with a lunatic mentality. And grant it not much has changed AT ALL, but now we had an explanation of why he was they way he was. I was now able to have a better understanding of this man that they called a "monster". And when it all boils down you can't really blame him too much for his outcome.

It was publicly screened for the first time at the 2008 Cannes film festival and then hit select theaters nationwide in April 2009.

If you get the chance to see it please do!! You will definitely have spent your money wisely!!
