Now you all know I am all about informing the masses of anything whether big or small!! And I just had to take a moment and recognize the culture and the people of the Gullah/Geechee Nation!! Check this out!
We salute Brother David who had the insight to begin this documentary to tell the story of accurate connections and derivations of our culture. The people of St. Helena Island are still holding on to the land and the culture. St. Helena Island still has a Cultural Protection Overlay District as part of the zoning standards for Beaufort County. Queen Quet served as the chair of the committee that fought for that protection along with the elders of the community. She is part of this film along with many family members of St. Helena in the heart of the Gullah/Geechee Nation.
