Directed by Tony Scott and co-starring Chris Pine and Rosario Dawson, Unstoppable is about a runaway train carrying a cargo of toxic chemicals.
The film pits an engineer (played by Washington) and his conductor (played by Pine) in a race against time. They're chasing the runaway train in a separate locomotive and need to bring it under control before it derails on a curve and causes a toxic spill that will decimate a town.
The script loosely inspired by a true event that took place in Ohio in 2001.
This will also mark the fifth collaboration between Washington and Scott after working on Crimson Tide, Man on Fire, Deja Vu, and The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3.
20th Century Fox will release the film on November 10.
