Inception...Great Idea!

Thank goodness for Inception...why do you ask because it lived up to its hype and did not disappoint! I was beginning to wonder if the summer was going to have a major blockbuster that speaks volumes, well this one did just that! Inception, is one brilliant film and definitely one that will go down in the history books!

It's not too often that you find a movie filled with originality and poise, but I think we found one with Inception. We can breathe in some fresh air knowing there is still the possibility of a film going beyond the norm and reaching outside of the box.

***Please be warned this is the type of movie that you must be very open to expanding your mind's thought's process. If not willing to do this you will be bored and uninterested. It will seduce your mind and leave a long-lasting impression.***

This American science fiction action film essentially a caper movie, centers on Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio), a thief/extracter who enters the dreams of others to obtain information that is otherwise inaccessible. His abilities have cost him coveted things, but a second chance allows the situation to be turned around. However, when an unforeseen enemy predicts Cobb's every move, Cobb and his team of specialists are forced to plant an idea in a target's subconscious.

One thing that I must mention is how Nolan does an excellent job of being careful not to let the scope of the film overwhelm the human element. The fact that it was film in about 6 locations all over the world speaks volumes to the imagery of the film. Inception nailed the true concept of cinematography, the set designs and the special effects are beyond exceptional! You're not just watching the scenes happen, you feel them. Just imagine a trip to Six Flags on one of the largest thrill rides of your life. (That's what this movie is like!)

Nolan has outdone himself with the directing, it is beyond unbelievable. It really makes you think about the difference between dream and reality. The plot is very eye-catching and has similarities to that of Shutter Island (although I think Inception was better executed) with all the twists-and-turns, you can't help but "stay on-the-edge-of-your-seat." And to top it off the musical score is absolutely perfect, every scene has perfect timing...you have to hear it to believe and understand what I am talking about.

In addition, the supporting cast should be commended as well for an extraordinary job. Each one played their role to a "tee". Each character fit appropriately in his or her position. With a cast like Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Lewitt, Michael Caine (personal favorite), or Marion Cotillard you are bound to have a near flawless flick.

Now take note, in the final hour of the film there is a display of probably one of the most complicated action sequences on film. It is important that you constantly pay attention to all of the layersthat enravel of what is happening. Everything comes full circle and all the layers that have been exposed reveal something grand. You have to see to understand what I am talking about. And to think development of Inception resulted from an 80-page treatment about dream-stealers roughly about 10 years before the film's actual release. Although an amazing film, you will probably want to see the film again just to make sure that you have a firm grasp and understanding of the movie. But then again it's worth every penny!
