Friday Line-up 9/24/2010


Here is this weekend's movie line-up...

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole (PG): 
Kathryn Lasky's children's book series comes to the screen with this animated adaptation from director Zack Snyder (Watchmen) and Village Roadshow Pictures. The plot details a mythical race of barn owls whose realm is threatened by sinister outside forces. Sam Neill, Geoffrey Rush, Hugo Weaving, and David Wenham head up the voice cast, which also includes Helen Mirren and Jim Sturgess.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (PG-13):  
Ambitious young investment banker Jacob Moore (Shia LaBeouf) discovers that greed is still the name of the game when he forges a fragile alliance with one time Wall Street hot shot Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas) shortly after Gekko is released from prison.

You Again (PG):  
Successful PR pro Marni (Kristen Bell) heads home for her older brother’s (Jimmy Wolk) wedding and discovers that he’s marrying her high school arch nemesis (Odette Yustman), who’s conveniently forgotten their problematic past.

You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger (R):  
Two married couples find only trouble and heartache as their complicated lives unfold. 

A Mother's Courage, Talking Back to Autism (NR)

Buried (R):  
Paul Conroy is not ready to die. But when he wakes up 6 feet underground with no idea of who put him there or why, life for the truck driver and family man instantly becomes a hellish struggle for survival.

Enter the Void (NR):  
A drug dealer's ghost (Nathaniel Brown) experiences a bizarre and voyeuristic journey through the afterlife as he wanders through Tokyo.

Friction (NR): 
Filmmaker Cullen Hoback travels to a private high school where he writes a script about a real couple and the student who comes between them.

Like Dandelion Dust (PG-13):  
A compelling drama that explores the different meanings of being a parent through the gritty, realistic lives of the struggling, blue-collar Porter's, and the privileged Campbell family.

The Virginity Hit (R):  
Four buddies must survive friends with benefits, Internet hookups and porn stars as they document their pal's first sexual encounter.

Waiting for Superman (PG):  
Filmmaker Davis Guggenheim examines the breakdown of U.S. school systems and what can be done to fix them. 

Howl (NR):  
Starring James Franco in a career-defining performance as Allen Ginsberg, HOWL is the story of how the young poet’s seminal work broke down societal barriers in the face of an infamous public obscenity trial.
