Will Packer, the mastermind behind such black blockbusters as Stomp The Yard and Obsessed and have reportedly acquired the film rights to the Amistad/Harper Collins book.
Just last week Producer Will Packer tweeted...“MY NEXT MOVIE BASED ON @IAmSteveHarvey’s bestseller “Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man” shoots this summer… All my real up and coming actors stay tuned for casting info… All my 15MIN OF FAME ppl stay tuned to learn how you can win a walk on role. I’ll be on @IAmSteveHarvey’s show next Tues to give details.”
Harvey would tell BlackVoices.com, "It really has to be some amount of favor from God, because I have no experience at writing a book," he continued. "It ain't like I've been there, done that. It's got to be favor from God. It's gotta be something that he has planned for me bigger than I could see, because I just wanted to write a book so the women on my show could quit asking me to write a book."
With the screenplay adaptation pretty much complete, the film is scheduled to begin shooting this summer. No cast has been set as of yet, so its like a blank canvas. But as more details are revealed, we will make sure to let you know...Just out of curiosity who would you like to see in the roles?
As someone who has read Mr. Harvey's book I definitely will be interested in seeing it on the big screen.
