Transformers 3...Making some heavy new additions!
Hey, it's been a long time since I've posted. Just been a little busy.
'Transformers 3' has been going very well. We are going to shoot in LA, Chicago, Washington DC, Florida, Texas, Africa, Moscow, and China. On the talent front, we just locked in Frances McDormand and John Malkovich. Both amazing actors I've always wanted to work with. We also just got Ken Jeong, he is the super funny actor stuck in the trunk from Hangover and the Doctor from Knocked Up. We start shooting pre-shoots in about one month.
I also was at a Ferrari charity event this week raising money for a hospital being built by Ferrari in Haiti. I announced that night the newest Autobot to join Transformers: the Ferrari 458 Italia.
~Michael Bay
Well I am pretty excited about this, considering I the first two have been pretty awesome. In addition to Ken Jeoung being added to the cast we will also get to see Academy Award winners John Malkovich (Con Air, Burn After Reading) and Frances McDormand (Burn After Reading). Now this is really going to set a blaze for this movie. Both have the potential of being stern government officials to loving parents. We shall see where the chips fall.

"Scream 4" Confirmed for April 2011 Release
Officially returning to the series will be Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courtney Cox-Arquette, though they'll be joined by a whole batch of new folks who haven't even been casted yet.
After awhile this series began to bore me. Maybe bringing back Wes Craven will add some "pep to its step."
Hmmmm....We shall see...
Godzilla coming back to the Big Screen!
Legendary will co-produce with Warner Bros., which is co-financing. The Godzilla project's been something of an open secret in recent months after Legendary execs began talking with potential directors. Legendary held off on making a public announcement until it closed its rights deal with Japan's Toho Co., which has overseen more than 25 Godzilla films.
Legendary said it's planning to announce a director shortly, and indicated that its Godzilla will pay respects to the original pic rather than follow up on Sony's 1998 Godzilla.
Speculation about a new Godzilla has been active since last summer, with the Bloody Disgusting web site reporting in August that the project was in development. No Warners films are yet dated for 2012.

New Love revealed in 'Sex and the City' Sequel
Sex and the City 2 comes out May27th, bringing Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon back together and following up on Carrie's marriage to Mr. Big (Chris Noth), the confident, charismatic tycoon she finally tied the knot with after an on-again, off-again love affair that went on for most of the series.
When Samantha takes her New York clique to Abu Dhabi, Carrie finds the desert temperature isn't the only thing heating up in the Middle East. She runs into ex-flame Aidan Shaw (John Corbett) -- her other big love during the series -- and temptation begins to simmer beneath the surface of her recent marriage to Big. Corbett just announced his return to "Sex and the City" on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" (set to air March 31) but wouldn't talk about any plot details.
"We bump into each other halfway around the world?" Carrie says, referring to Aidan, in a new trailer that premiered exclusively to theater owners last week. "That means something."
With Carrie running into her sweet ex-fiance miles away from married life with Big, will the tables be turned this time around? And what brings the ladies of "SATC" to Abu Dhabi in the first place?
Check out the trailer...
Ladies are you ready!!! ...May 27th is right around the corner.

Movie Ticket Prices may Jump Up!
Major U.S. movie-theater chains, seeking to accelerate the surge in revenues fueled by such 3-D hits as "Avatar" and "Alice in Wonderland," are imposing some of the steepest increases in ticket prices in at least a decade.
The new prices take effect Friday in many markets across the country in theaters owned by such major exhibitors as Regal Entertainment Group, Cinemark Holdings Inc. and AMC Entertainment Inc.
While the new prices could boost theater owners' already buoyant revenues, some industry watchers think they could also spark a consumer backlash. Studios, theater operators, and trade groups have long touted films as a bargain, compared with other forms of entertainment. A decade ago, the average ticket at a multiplex was $5.39, but prices have edged up between 2.7% and 6.1% a year since then, according to the Motion Picture Association of America.
The increases, in one case as much as 26%, vary from theater to theater, but many cinemas are raising prices most—or even solely—for 3-D showings, which accounted for the vast majority of last year's 10% jump in domestic box-office sales. 3-D movies generated 11% of domestic ticket sales in 2009, up from just 2% in 2008.
At an AMC theater in Danvers, Mass., a Boston suburb, 3-D ticket prices are jumping more than 20% to $17.50 from $14.50, while the adult admission price for a conventional film will remain at $10.50. At one Seattle multiplex, adult admission is rising to $11 from $10 for a conventional film, to $15 from $13.50 for a regular 3-D showing and to $17 from $15 for Imax 3-D.
A 3-D Imax movie at New York City's AMC Loews Kips Bay will cost $19.50, up from $16.50.
The increases weren't announced by the theater operators, but were reflected in prices posted Wednesday on movie-ticketing Web sites, such as Fandango.com.
AMC and Cinemark declined to comment. Comment from Regal wasn't immediately available.

"Lost Tapes" of famed filmmaker Orson Welles
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Twenty-five years after his death, Orson Welles is back in the movie business.
A rare recording, recently discovered, of the filmmaker narrating a children's Christmas novel is being used as the basis for a film.
It's being produced by Drac Studios, best known as a special effects and makeup shop for movies like "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" but now moving into full-fledged production.
Drac is in development on "Christmas Tails," a 3D live-action/CG hybrid movie to be directed by Todd Tucker and narrated by the legendary filmmaker, who died in 1985.
"It's a movie about how Santa's dog saves Christmas, but on one level, this a story about the discovery of Orson's lost tapes," Drac president Harvey Lowry said. "This is a substantial find. It's something that a filmmaker dreams of."
Welles' voice will be interspersed throughout the movie, much in the way Boris Karloff's voice was used in the 1966 animated version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
New Arrivals and Departures for 4th 'Pirates' film
Looks like the fourth installment of the popular 'Pirates of the Caribbean' series is set to get a character face-lift. A few of the familiar characters will be walking the plank as the make way for a new leading lady.
While Johnny Depp will be losing Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom as costars in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, he'll be gaining an onscreen love interest in Penelope Cruz. The Oscar-winning actress is said to be playing the role of bad-guy Blackbeard's daughter, who will also be the first romantic counterpart for Captain Jack Sparrow since the franchise set sail in 2003.
The extent of the romance has not been confirmed, however "Pirates" executive producer Bruckheimer would only say that there will be "a little romance" between Sparrow and Cruz's character -- Bruckheimer told MTV News that Cruz "brings a lot of humor" to the role, which he says is a "feisty" one.
Cruz had been in negotiations to join the cast since February. Ian McShane will play Blackbeard, who -- in addition to being Sparrow's nemesis -- is the "nastiest pirate ever," in Bruckheimer's opinion.
Angela Bassett lands role in 'Green Lantern' movie
According to Variety the Waiting To Exhale actress will play government agent Dr. Amanda Waller.
She'll join a cast that features Ryan Reynolds in the title role as the DC comics hero, Blake Lively as love interest Carol Ferris, Peter Saarsgaard as the villainous Dr. Hector Hammond and Mark Strong as alien rival Sinestro.
Casino Royale director Martin Campbell will be helming the movie, which is slated for June 17, 2011.

CONFIRMED 'Fantastic Four' star Chris Evans accepts 'Captain America' role
Sources said that not only has the actor accepted Marvel's offer for the big-screen role, but that the deal-making moved so fast it's now all about dotting the i's and crossing the t's.
Marvel would not comment on the development, and Creative Artists Agency, which represents the actor, declined comment.
Evans was offered the role in Marvel Studios' production late last week, but there was some question of whether he would accept. Was he ready to play another superhero and take on the trappings that come with such a high-profile part?
Evans took a few days to think it over, and once he decided he was willing to wield the shield, negotiations moved quickly over the weekend.

Debate over DVD Releases (AP)*
The average gap between big-screen and DVD releases has held steady at about four months in recent years, but Disney upset theater owners with a plan to narrow the window to about three months for its blockbuster "Alice in Wonderland."
Theaters worry a shorter gap undermines ticket sales.
The issue is a key topic this week at ShoWest, an annual convention for theater owners, where studios trot out stars, films and footage to promote upcoming releases.

Throwback Thursday: In memory of Corey Haim
The Lost Boys is a 1987 American horror film about two young Arizonans who move to California and end up fighting a gang of teenage vampires.
Directed by Joel Schumacher, the film stars Jason Patric, Corey Haim, and Kiefer Sutherland, and co-stars Jami Gertz, Corey Feldman, Dianne Wiest, Edward Herrmann, Alex Winter, Jamison Newlander, and Barnard Hughes. The title would also make reference to J.M. Barrie's stories Lost Boys about Peter Pan and Neverland.
Without a doubt, this film ranks up there amongst well crafted vampire movies ever made, in the modern film era. It is obvious that Jason Patric and Kiefer Sutherland blow away the audiences with this visual masterpiece. By far pretty much everyone will agree that The Lost Boys was truly ahead of its time. And actually when I think about it, the film is pretty much still accurate besides the fashions being outdated (lol) And it definitely was by far Corey Haim's best flick, as well as Cory Feldham's too.
One thing I did notice about this film is that it is purely natural, NO CGI, so what we see is all REAL! After watching this movie one can't help but want to be vampire. Some critics refer to it as just one big MTV music commercial with all the pop culture references, but I beg to differ. One cannot deny that the actors were perfectly cast in their roles, which gives a most endearing quality and a sense that this movie was just done, which is a huge endeavor, that many other movies have lacked (eg. Batman 3 & 4). A remake would definitely be in order, but unfortunately will not come to pass, due to the recent loss of Haim.
When its all said and done The Lost Boys is a true 80's flick packed with great performances, awesome special effects and a killer soundtrack. As it relates to horror movies the 80's got it locked up pretty tight (ex. Gremlins, Fright Night, American Werewolf in London, Return of the Living Dead, Evil Dead, and there are probably more).Check out the trailer of this great film that would become an 80s trend of making vampire figures more applicable to the audiences in the 1980s.

Brooklyn's Finest
-Brooklyn's Finest (Notorious B.I.G and Jay-Z)
This is a movie that I had been pretty excited about ever since I saw the trailer. It made me think could this be the new New Jack City?
You can't help but witness the familiar staples of the tough streets and housing projects as they are put on full display: murder, drugs, prostitution, white slavery, theft, police corruption and killings in the name of law and order. Brooklyn's Finest demonstrates overcoming personal demons, life skills, personal triumph and much more. You feel their pain and they take on each new day. It's truly survival of the fittest...eat or be eaten!
After watching the movie one will realize the movie relies heavily on perpetuating all kinds of stereotypes to move the story and pretty much suggests a level of corruption that if plausible would render our society fatal. However the story does works, primarily due to the fast paced action and superb acting. All in all it seems to manage being able to keep the audience's attention. One is kept wondering how the various subplots will work themselves out and who will survive the war in the end.
The true stars of this film are what I like to call a Triple Threat (Gere, Cheadle, and Hawke). They truly bring life to the film, you can't help but focus on each of their stories. In addition, the supporting cast helps to balance the darkness that is exhibited throughout the movie. And to top it off the camera work is gritty , extensive and realistic and the supporting cast members are tops in this well-made and interesting drama.
I will admit I was not to keen on the ending, but I have come to realize that maybe this is Fuqua's style for movies such as this (hence Training Day). In addition, even though the end may not be want we want, but it is actually reality and that gives it an authenticity different many other films.
Grade: A-

Big Momma House 3 is coming!!
Brooklyn's Finest vs. New Jack City vs. Deep Cover
With Deep Cover, you have a story of a cop (Laurence Fishburne) who has been working all his life to expunge the memory and life of his dope-addict father. But then at the same time he gets tangled up in the drug trade game, that he may never get loose. And with New Jack City, the highlight of this movie is a rising drug-dealer and crime lord who is pretty much on everybody's hitlist, especially to one particular detective. The slight difference is the emotion that is involved from each of its main characters. Now we get to Brooklyn's Finest, with this film we get a chance to see three different, yet similar stories that really all tie into one. In essence, this film takes a little bit of each film hoping to make it bigger and better!!
In the course of one chaotic week, the lives of three conflicted New York City police officers are dramatically transformed by their involvement in a massive drug operation in Brooklyn's Finest. The film captures the volatile and deadly world of one of New York's most dangerous precints through the eyes of the men and women pledged to protect and serve, as they face the wrenching choices that make them Brooklyn's Finest.
One is on pins and needles seeing how this movie is going to play out!! Plus the more and more I I think about it, I remember Fuqua's film Training Day, and I can't help but think that ... damn that was a good movie!!
We shall see...

Sean Bean joins "Death Race 2": Universal film is a prequel to 2008's Jason Statham starrer
Universal is putting out the feature, now shooting in South Africa, as part of its DVD Originals banner. Smokin' Aces 2: Assassins' Ball was the label's most recent release.
Also in the cast are Lauren Cohan, Ving Rhames, Danny Trejo and Frederick Koehler. Paul W.S. Anderson, who directed the 2008 movie, is producing with Jeremy Bolt. Roel Reine is directing.
The prequel is serving as the origin story for the character named Frankenstein, a convicted cop killer (Goss) in a declining American empire where a racing reality show is about to be born in the country's corrupt prison system.
