2012 Summer Movie Line-Up

Well it's one of my favorite times of the year...Summer Movies!! Each week this summer is going to be filled with blockbuster hits!! So let me not waste anymore of your time let's get right to it folks....

First on the list....the obvious....

The Avengers (May 4th): It's already been receiving rave reviews and I'm sure it will not disappoint!! At least I hope not :-) 

Dark Shadows (May 11th): It just would not be a summer without a movie from Johnny Depp!

Battleship (May 18th)

MIB3 (May 25th): Not sure how excited I am about this but we shall see...

Snow White and The Huntsman (June 1st)

 Prometheus (June 8th): This is one that I know a lot of folks have been sleeping on, but I gotta funny feeling its going to surprise some folks in a good way!

Rock of Ages (June 15th)

GI Joe: Retaliation (June 29th): ACTION.COM

The Amazing Spider-Man (July 3rd): I'm still tripping that the 3rd installment Spider-Man 3 only came out just five years ago! Hmmmm...This is sure to get the 4th of July popping!! 

The Dark Knight Rises (July 20th): I have been waiting for this movie for a lifetime (exaggeration lol) this and The Avengers are top on my list!

The Bourne Legacy (August 3rd): And no Matt Damon does not make a guest appearance....

Total Recall (August 3rd): Can we say REMAKE...

**And we gotta make sure the kiddies go to the movies too especially since school will be out soon!!

Ice Age: Continental Drift (July 13th)

The Avengers Cast Revealed ...

According to the Associated Press in San Diego, comic book fans no longer have to imagine what it might be like to see all their favorite superheroes in one place. On this past Saturday (7/24) during Comic-Con fans got a chance to see the full complete cast for the Avengers film revealed.

Samuel L. Jackson surprised some 6,000 fans gathered for a Marvel Studios presentation when he stepped out just as it was ending and started introducing the cast of The Avengers.

Jackson brought out stars Clark Gregg, Scarlett Johannson, Chris Hemsworth of Thor and Chris Evans of Captain America. He then introduced another surprise guest, Robert Downey Jr., who brought out the rest of the all-star cast, including Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner.

The film is due in 2012.

Can you see Iron Man as a Disney Character now?!!

According to the Associated Press, The Walt Disney Co. is buying Marvel Entertainment Inc. for $4 billion in cash and stock, bringing such characters as Iron Man and Spider-Man into the family of Mickey Mouse and WALL-E.

Under the deal, which was announced Monday (8/31)and is expected to close by the end of the year, Disney will acquire the rights to 5,000 Marvel characters. Many of them, including the Fantastic Four and the X-Men, were co-created by the comic book legend Stan Lee. Disney said the boards of both companies have approved the transaction, but it will require an antitrust review and the approval of Marvel shareholders.

Disney CEO Robert Iger said Marvel's comic books, TV shows, movies and video games amounted to "a treasure trove of content."

Although it began producing its own movies, starting with Iron Man last year, Marvel has several deals with other movie studios that Disney said it will honor and re-examine upon expiration. For example, Spider-Man 4, set for release in 2011, is being made with Sony Corp.'s Columbia Pictures; Iron Man 2 will be distributed by Viacom Inc.'s Paramount Pictures next year; and the upcoming X-Men Origins: Magneto and X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2, both due in 2011, are to be distributed by News Corp.'s 20th Century Fox.

"The acquisition of Marvel offers us a similar opportunity to advance our strategy," Iger said, and "to build a business that is stronger than the sum of its parts."

Now I am not too sure how I feel about this, I kind a got some mixed emotions on this one here....hmmmm...
