Well this weekend is what I like to call the record-breaking, blockbuster weekend!! And here are the numbers to prove it...
1. Transformers: Dark of the Moon $97,400,000
2. Cars 2 $25,112,000
3. Bad Teacher $14,100,000
4. Larry Crowne $13,007,000
5. Monte Carlo $7,600,000
No movie could stand a chance against the mighty Autobots and Decipticons!!
So far Transformers: Dark of the Moon has claimed the title of highest grossing film of 2011. It would also be the highest grossing Independence Day weekend flick smashing the previous record-holder Spider-Man 2 ($88 million back in July 2004). Now if we factor in the mid-week (Tuesday previews-Thursday) numbers Transformers would roll-in a dynamic $162 million.
