'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn' Split Into Two Movies

According to Access Hollywood, Summit Entertainment is giving 'Twilight fans' a double dose of Breaking Dawn.

The company behind the beloved vampire franchise announced that the fourth installment in the series will be released as two separate movies with the first of the two slated to be released in theatres on November 18, 2011.

Academy Award winner Bill Condon will direct both films with Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner.

Breaking Dawn will start production in fall 2010. The third movie in the franchise, Eclipse, hits theaters on June 30, 2010.

Breaking News!! Angelina Jolie to play Cleopatra...

Oscar winner Angelina Jolie is attached to star in the "Cleopatra" movie that Oscar-winning producer Scott Rudin has been developing since 2006, according to USA Today.
As for who would play Julius Caesar in the movie, Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer Stacy Schiff's ("Cleopatra: A Life," which the movie would be based after) was stumped, but she did say that Jolie's partner Brad Pitt would be a "no-brainer" to play Marc Antony.

The closest the Salt star has come to playing this kind of part was her regal turn as Colin Farrell's mother (despite a one year age difference) in Oliver Stone's Alexander

Elizabeth Taylor originated the role in Joseph L. Mankiewicz's "Cleopatra," which was the highest grossing film in 1963 yet lost money for 20th Century Fox due to its then-enormous $44 million budget. More recently, director Steven Soderbergh was developing a 3D musical version with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Hugh Jackman, Ray Winstone and a score from Guided By Voices, but that production was put on the back burner when Sony pitched "Moneyball" to the Oscar-winning filmmaker, who swung and missed the chance to direct.

Not sure how I feel about this, so we shall see... Are there not enough women of color actresses to play Cleopatra? I mean she is African...Think about that...

Throwback Thursday: 'The Neverending Story'

"A boy who needs a friend finds a world that needs a hero in a land beyond imagination!"

How many of you remember the movie, The Neverending Story? Every young pre-teen wanted to be in this fantasy world!! A classic fantasy movie...now some say it's just for kids, but I beg to differ, its relevent for all ages.

This film adaptation only covered the first half of the book, but its a journey that one cannot forget. It's an example of a timeless story, told with wonderful creatures and dazzling visuals of the land of Fantasia.The movie is pretty much like a combination of several hundred kids' imaginations. Throughout the movie, the viewer is given some of the most memorable and fantastic creatures ever seen on film. Of course the effects are not nearly as impressive as the latest CGI effects; however for its time they're close to perfect, and very good for their time.

But The Neverending Story is more than just a movie; it speaks to that part in all of us that will never let go of our dreams. It is a story that will never end as long as there are people to appreciate its message. "Fantasia IS real. and Fantasia can arise in you."

Just recently, Warner Bros., The Kennedy/Marshall Co., and Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way have embarked on the early stages of rebooting the franchise by re-adapting Michael Ende's novel of the same name. They intend to "examine the more nuanced details of the book" rather than remake the original film by Wolfgang Petersen.

A tentative release date has been set for 2012.

"Bourne" Going Back to the Basics

Well the time has finally come for the fourth installment of the "Bourne series", and I definitely have been waiting for this moment. This is one of the best consistent action series that I have seen in a while. It takes a lot to be able to have three great films in a series. well the wait is over.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Universal is going back to the drawing board with its "Bourne" franchise, hiring the Oscar-nominated writer/director of Michael Clayton to write a treatment for a fourth installment of the action series.

The project, with the working title of "Bourne Legacy," will be written by Tony Gilroy, who will disregard a pair of scripts already in the can. Gilroy also worked on the first three films. ("Bourne Legacy" is a book written by Eric Lustbader in novelist Robert Ludlum's "Bourne" series, but the film will not be based on this book.)

Universal wants to release the film in 2012. But it is unclear whether "Bourne" star Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass, who directed the sequels Bourne Supremacy and Bourne Ultimatum, will return. Damon has said he does not want to make a new installment without Greengrass, while the director has said he is moving on to other projects. The duo's stance may soften given the multimillion dollar paydays involved.
With or without them, Universal is intent on making the movie, as the franchise is too important for the studio not to go forward. (The movies have grossed over $944 million worldwide.)

Now I am not quite sure how I feel about someone replacing Damon as Bourne, that might be a suicide move.
